Legacy Track of the Week: Nipsey Hussle ft Kendrick Lamar - Dedication

“This ain't entertainment it's for ***** on the slave ship, these songs just the spirituals I swam against them waves with, ended up on shore to their amazement, and now they hope the example I set's not contagious” smh 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 this record right here is insane meaning this is scorching hot and I never heard Nipsey rip an instrumental quite like this, as I knew he was nice but this right here is a different level. Meanwhile the production is incredible and the featured verse from Kendrick might be one of his all time classics, especially that “minor setback for a major comeback that’s my favorite” 💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥

Nipsey Hussle ft Stacy Barthe - Victory Lap

“I'm prolific, so gifted, I'm the type that's gon go get it, no kiddin, breaking down a Swisher in front of yo buildin, sitting on the steps feeling no feelings” Sure enough Nipsey Hussle has just released an early candidate for album of the year with his latest release Victory Lap, as from start to finish this album is a firm testament as to how much talent resides in this genre of music. Production ✔️ Lyrics ✔️ Song Structure ✔️ Hit Potential ✔️ and more than anything the music puts you right in the story, making this one of the most captivating West Coast albums to be released since Game’s Documentary 2/2.5.

Nipsey Hussle ft Puff Daddy - Young *****

“I'm a master of my fate, plus I'm the type of ***** own the masters to my tape” 🔥🔥🔥 all facts and this is where the album really starts to elevate, with Nipsey running through about 100 bars of fire over crazy production, amplified by Puff Daddy ad libs that are always both entertaining and motivational.

Nipsey Hussle - Blue Laces 2

“They killed Dr. Sebi, he was teaching health, I fuck with Rick Ross cause he teaching wealth, dropped out of school I'ma teach myself, made my first mil on my own I don't need your help” Produced collaboratively by Mike N Keys, Mr. Lee, & Larrance Dopson with a sample of Give Me Some of That Good Old Love by Willie Hutch, this is one of the many standout tracks off Victory Lap and one of the initial records to likely get your attention off first listen, highlighted by the Dr. Sebi reference whose story you can read about right here.

Nipsey Hussle ft Buddy - Status Symbol 3

“Almost forgot what I was doin, almost forgot where I was goin I been driving I been smokin, almost forgot what I was doin, almost forgot what I was drinkin what the hell have I been thinkin” Ahhhhh man now this is a riiiide meaning this record is stupid 🔥🔥🔥 and it’s all about the vibe and the feeling that it gives you, where ultimately it’s really the featured artist Buddy (who’s been featured on this website more than once) that steals the show and makes an impact that’s unforgettable.

Nipsey Hussle - Grinding All My Life

“All my life, been grindin all my life, sacrifice, hussle paid the price, want a slice, got to roll the dice, that's why, all my life, I been grindin all my life” Produced by Murda Beatz this will likely be the next record to spawn the next dance move that will take the internet by storm, meaning if you put some crazy choreography to this then you’ll have a summer anthem before spring.

Nipsey Hussle ft The Dream - Million While You Young

“Tell me why you mad, folk, tell me why you mad, I know to you it looks easy, tell me why you mad, folk, tell me why you mad, this shit ain't easy believe me” Terius Nash comes through and laces another strong record off the Victory Lap tape, easily one of the best albums to come out so far this year.

Nipsey Hussle ft Belly & Dom Kennedy) - Double Up

“Double up, three or four times, I ain't tellin no lies I just run it up, never let a hard time humble us, do-do-double up” Probably my favorite record on the tape bar none, is this bonus record that exemplifies the tone of the album perfectly, which Nipsey describes in his own words by stating “my new shit sound like it's Soul Train, Tookie Williams over Coltrane, Eric B by the rope chain” smh Nipsey took it to an entire different level with this album and I’m riding out to this record indefinitely.

Post Malone ft Ty Dolla $ign - Psycho

“Damn, my AP goin psycho, lil mama bad like Michael, can't really trust nobody with all this jewelry on you” Disregarding the erroneous comments made by a supposed culture vulture who actually has some apparent talent, this guy seems more than likely to be good for some moments and I could see the appeal in slight moderation. Still funny that Bieber is his right hand tho… and for reasons like that the upcoming sophomore album Beerbongs & Bentleys will likely be a commercial success.

Black Milk - Could It Be

“Try to see the vision no glasses, you can picture that with no cameras or flashes, you can just imagine” Detroit’s own Black Milk is back with his official 7th studio album Fever, and produced by himself this is definitely one of the standouts.

Black Milk - You Like To Risk It All/Things Will Never Be

“Our show is all a reality when written, a fan of me this ain’t no fantasy more fact than fiction” If nothing else listen to this outro of Black Milk’s latest release, and quickly you’ll see the appeal of this artist/producer from the underground who’s already worked with Black Thought, Slum Village, Robert Glasper and many more.

Jericho Jackson - Self Made

“Science and dollar signs are underneath my D fitted, saw a light at the end of the tunnel, I lit my tree with it, that's just how I'm blazing, nothing short of amazing, had a brush with death and all it did was make my waves spin” Elzhi & Khrysis are now known together as Jericho Jackson, and Elzhi & Khrysis continue to be two of the best kept secrets in Hip Hop. Press play on this album with no hesitation.

Jericho Jackson - Cuffin’ Season

“Stay alert, look alive, that's the ritual, don't get ate up by the same blocks that get you full, either them boys had to meet quota, or got your name on a sheet inside of a neat folder” Slum Village bars and Justus League production, as good on wax as it sounds on paper.

Jericho Jackson - To Do List

“Get the bread, the girl, and gold throne, forget about my ex cause there's no need to hold on, to memories of sex, bonfires, cold stone, delete all of her new pics that's in my old phone, press reset, this time around, I'm bound to get my respect” It’s not turn up music but it might clear your mind 💯

Jericho Jackson - Breguets

“Those who came to see a train wreck, need to get their brain checked, having thoughts of toasting me up in the champagne Lex” More 🔥🔥🔥
