Legacy Track of the Week: Lenny Grant (Uncle Murda) ft 50 Cent & Jeremih - On & On

“She the baddest bitch on the planet, badder than Beyonce, Halle, and Janet” Produced by Reefa & 12 Keys who sample the Case/Joe classic Faded Pictures record, this is one of the best Uncle Murda records to date highlighted by great contributions from 50 Cent & Jeremih <<< who working together have a decent catalogue over the years and lowkey is one of the best Rap/R&B combinations in the game. Otherwise Uncle Murda is a LEGEND and The Lenny Grant Story should be one of the most anticipated projects to come out this year.

DJ Khaled ft Rihanna & Bryson Tiller - Wild Thoughts

“I hope you know I'm for the takin, you know this cookie is for the baking (ugh), kitty, kitty, baby give that thing some rest, cause you done beat it like the '68 Jets” What more needs to be said… Rihanna is the most 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥in the game and DJ Khaled got another one … truth be told Rihanna more 🔥🔥🔥 than Beyonce right now, and for what it’s worth she definitely bodied Bryson Tiller on this and takes over the whole set. This right here is the start of the summer - s/o Carlos Santana this one is goin worldwide.

Calvin Harris ft Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean - Feels

“She's looking for a little more consistency, but when you stop looking you gon' find what's meant to be, and honestly, I'm way too done with the hoes, I cut off all my exes for your x and o's” This Funk Wav Bounces Vol 1 album sounds like it’s gonna be on a Bruno Mars 24K Magic level… suggesting that it’s about to be a certified instant classic… The records already out (Shine, Heatstroke, Rollin) have been some of the smoothest records to come out this year, and if the remaining 6 records are just as fire than Calvin Harris from Scotland will have officially put himself in a Top 5 category. On this record Pharrell flexes and Katy Perry actually does her numbers, despite the fact in 2017 she’s become a Miley Cyrus type of mockery and it’s been embarrassing in every moment. Otherwise Sean does his thing but once again it’s the production, the production provided by Calvin Harris that is the star of the show.

Big Boi ft Adam Levine, Scar & Sleepy Brown - Mic Jack

“You're hotter than July (super hot), super colder than December (so cold)” One of the best records off Big Boi’s 3rd solo album Boomiverse is the second single that serves as a Dungeon Family/Maroon 5 collaboration, which believe it or not is nothing but fire - shoutout producers DJ Khalil & DJ Dahi who definitely flexed on this 💪

Big Boi ft Eric Bellinger - Order of Operations

“So what if I told ya that I was a cold soldier, that give em the cold shoulder, these hoes been getting over on these ***** like Olympic hurdle jumpers, they trying to get that Gold” Sir Lucious Left Foot aka Daddy Fat Saxxx flexes on this Scott Storch & Diego Ave production and this is easily one of the standouts on Boomiverse.

2 Chainz ft Nicki Minaj - Realize

“See this is chess, not checkers, you can not check the checkers, did Nas clear that "Ether" record? Nah, but I broke Aretha record” The real star of this record is producer FKi 1st who provides an instrumental that gets Pretty Girls Like Trap Muzik in the right groove after a few misfires early. Botch Chainz & Nicki do their numbers yet truth be told the Nicki/Remy beef isn’t that exciting at all. Ya’ll hyped the Shether record and for me it was dead from there.

2 Chainz ft Ty Dolla $ign, Trey Songz & Jhene Aiko - It’s A Vibe

"Got a vibe, make a yellow chick turn her neck (alright)Got a vibe, make a cougar wanna spend a check (check)Got a vibe, make an Asian want hibachi (hibachi)Got a vibe, make Italian want Versace (Versace)" Another one of the standouts on Pretty Girls Like Trap Muzik, highlighted by the well placed features and solid production by G Koop and Murda. Shoulda been titled 'Issa Vibe' but issa cool record regardless.

Action Bronson - Let Me Breathe

“Two uzis and a rifle, it's like I'm at the studio with Michael, you can hear me dancing on the beat, Bam Bam bout to put a mansion on the beach, uh, hundred Latins in your lobby, that's what happens when you fuck around with Body, uh, and I put that on my mami (It's on my mami), I would never give my heart to a thotty” 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 lowkey Action Bronson is one of my favorite MC’s and as said before he deserves a lot more respect for pen game and delivery. This one is expected to be on Blue Chips 7000 due out later this year.

Big Boi ft Gucci Mane & Pimp C - In the South

“Suwoo Bentley and the Forgies Suwoo, too, and I know two Jews, eat a case like it's fast food” On this Organized Noize, Cory Mo, & TM88 production this feels like the essence of the UGK era, solid album cut that gives you that southern fell.

Big Boi ft Eric Bellinger - Overthunk

“Goin back and forth and back, goin back and forth for what, conversations with myself, overthinking is a drug” Produced by Organized Noize (who please don’t forget just dropped a classic project of their own) and this is another one that’s money in the bank.

2 Chainz ft Pharrell - Bailan

“You, you, you, you, you, hate me cause I tell you the truth, maybe your friends are confused, I'm gonna tell you the truth, go ahead and goooo, bailan, bailan, bailan” Bailan means dance in Espanol and this is one of the best Pharrell records in recent memory. Heard a few ‘tastemakers’ on Twitter talking down on this record and idk what they’re listening to. Must be two Bailan records. Sounds 🔥🔥🔥 to me.

2 Chainz ft Monica - Burglar Bars

“See my verses are better and my subject is realer, see my mom was an addict and my dad was the dealer, and their son is that ****, I'm no Black activist, I'm a Black millionaire, give you my Black ass to kiss, we used the tree for a fence, I used to land in the trench, used to dust myself off, then I eat me some shrimp” The best 2 Chainz rapping on Pretty Girls Like Trap Muzik is easily the outro where Tity Boi flexes on all of us… Monica does her numbers and this is why Chainz is not a wack MC and Mike Dean is a fire producer. Salute to everyone involved this one’s a heater.

Young Thug ft Snoop Dogg & Lil Durk - Get High

“I wanna get high, yah, bouta go call my go-to guy, yah” Hidden at track 9 is the best record off BEAUTIFUL THUGGERS GIRLS which apparently flopped so bad that even with streams it didn’t chart at all in the first week. Even still regardless of sales the album is lackluster af omitting this one record in particular, that actually has a nice vibe to it. Produced by Young Chop this is the only record on the project that I’d truly recommend.

Young Thug ft Future - Relationship

“I don't do jet-skis, give me the yacht please, I made you queen status, check out my lean status”… highlighted by more quotables like “Pop an X pill like we Malcolm” these mumble rappers are really trash but at least the production provided by BL$$D & Billboard Hitmakers is decent enough.

Joyner Lucas ft Mystikal - FYM

"Bitch, I'm tired of living, check the cheque, I need twenty models and some extra sex, smiling in my grave, bitch I'm fresh to death, I've been drinking Wu-Tang with Inspectah Deck” Joyner Lucas has been a Massachusetts MC on the rise [which as a state honestly has very few notable MCs that have made any real impact on the game, with Guru, Termanology & Akrobatik the only ones really worth mentioning - s/o New Edition tho they held it down for everyone] and truth be told by all accounts he’s resembled a dope MC every time I heard him spit. The new mixtape 508-507-2209 is a good project and this is one of the standouts, highlighted by the Mystikal feature that gets you points off the strength.

Joyner Lucas - Keep It 100

“She rolled a hundred up and stuck it up her nose like, that's what she call heaven's door, that's what she call Snow White, the white without seven dwarfs” Storytellin raps off 508-507-2209 and Joyner’s skills are legitimate, exemplified in this very descriptive journey that describes how money is the root of all evil

Joyner Lucas - Winter Blues

“All I wanted was to make a decent living, I can't even count on all my fingers how much shit I went through, what I went through, what I went through, and when shit get real ain't really nothing that you can do” A lot of passion in Joyner’s raps yet on this record the highlight is that Jazz instrumental which at the moment has gone uncredited as far as I know.

Joyner Lucas - Lullaby

“Cause ever since I grown I felt like you been kind of giving up, and it seems like everything I do is just not good enough, shit, we don't have the type of bond we used to have before, and I ain't mad at all I just wonder if you recall the day that I was born, when you used to sing to me like, la la la la la la la la” The best record off 508-507-2209 is another story that hits home about family, where honestly Joyner at times sounds very similar to prime Eminem (evident throughout the project) not only through content but also through voice and delivery.

H.E.R. - Every Kind of Way

"I wanna love you in every kind of way, I wanna please you, no matter how long it takes, if the world should end tomorrow and we only have today, I'm gonna love you in every kind of way" For those who haven’t deciphered the mystery, the artist H.E.R. is a singer with a hidden identity, however all signs point to California native and Alicia Keys protege Gabi Wilson. If you do your googles you find out Wilson as a child was tearing up daytime TV with her talents followed by a critically acclaimed cover of Drake’s ‘Jungle,’ only to release her debut project under the pseudonym H.E.R. last year - followed by the sequel that was released last week under the same mystique. H.E.R. Vol 2 is definitely a vibe and it’s highlighted by the opening record produced by Soundzfire & DJ Camper <<< all neo-soul fans press play

H.E.R. - I Won’t

“You can't make me love you if I don't” Another one produced by Soundzfire & DJ Camper, the melody over this piano instrumental is deadly 🔥🔥🔥

Cam’ron - Yell

(stream not available)

“No clothes on, gotta Prodigy, stab your brain with your nose bone, got that line from the Infamous, black Trump though, look at my apprentices” New bars from Cam over a vintage instrumental. RIP Prodigy 🙏

2 Chainz ft Drake - Big Amount

"Last night was a blur to me, this morning I got two with me, I don't know what to do with me..." Produced by Buddah Bless this one was released last August and Chainz floats on this… tbh he bodied Drizzy Drake on it

2 Chainz ft Gucci Mane & Quavo - Good Drank

“My jewelry look like a lake, today I'm in a Maybach and that car came with some drapes, you know I look like a safe, I put you back in your place, I look you right in your face, sing to your bitch like I'm Drake, 2 Chainz!” Produced Mike Dean this one was released last October, hard not to love this one

RIP PRODIGY - THE LEGACY OF MOBB DEEP LIVES FOREVER - #MOBB4LIFE
